Does Pu’er Tea really help you lose weight?

Introduction

Pu’er Tea is one of China’s best secrets until recently. Note that it is not merely a “weight loss” tea, just like water is not merely a hydration tool. Pu’er Tea comes from Camellia Sinensis Tea Trees and is often picked from trees that have been growing for hundreds of years. This allows the leaves to be full of nutrients and have a depth of flavor and benefits that other teas (picked from young bushes) cannot compare to.

Reduce body fat

  • Pu’er Tea helps reduce body fat because of its ability to cleanse the blood
  • Promote circulation
  • Remove bad cholesterol from the body.
  • Drinking Pu’er Tea throughout the day, especially after heavy meals, helps clear the bloodstream of oils and fats.
  • This is the same tea that is set out in restaurants and bakeries in China to pull the oil out of the air; this is exactly what it does in the body.
Dr. Oz and many others have shown the world how it reduces body fat to drink a couple of cups a day of Pu’er Tea, especially one of the highest quality. The biggest research done on this is by the College of Medicine in Taiwan.

Pu’er tea and digestion

  • Pu’er tea is used in Asia as a digestive aid.
  • Promotes intestinal health
  • Increases blood flow towards the abdomen and core.
  • Increases blood flow to the colon and intestines.
  • Quickly and efficiently digest food
  • Promotes regularity

Pu’er tea and hangovers

  • Drinking Pu’er tea at the end of a night of drinking will help the “buzz” fade quickly.
  • The caffeine and L-Theanine counteract the chemistry of the alcohol in the body.
  • The next morning, drinking this tea will also allow one to recover. The blood is rejuvenated.

Pu’er Tea and lowering cholesterol

A study was conducted with 500 hyperlipidemia patients (individuals with advanced cholesterol conditions, usually controlled with medication). Half of the controlled group consumed 3-4 cups of Pu’er Tea daily, while the rest of the participants were given water or otherwise. After a 30-day period, the results showed that drinking Pu’er Tea on a regular basis will significantly lower cholesterol and further research confirmed that Pu’er was as effective as the most advanced cholesterol lowering medications available.

Does Pu’er tea help weight loss?

This is a wonderful question and something that is important. For us, it ties into the question also of “When to drink Pu’er tea?” because if consumed before a meal it may not be as helpful for weight loss as if it were consumed after the meal. The tea needn’t be treated as a ritual or even a medicine, but should still be enjoyed while drinking the tea, as there are many many other benefits to Pu’er tea besides just weight loss. However, there has been tremendous research and results for people drinking the tea to lose weight or aid in digestion, but everyone’s results will be their own. If one wants any good benefits though, quality is key. Great health will not come out of mediocre teas. A great tea will help you to feel great.

Pu’er Tea and water intake

It is recommended for us to drink 8 cups of water a day, but it is most important for us to drink 8 cups of cleanwater each day, not just any water. This is the same for tea. Quality is key and quality is what Misty Peak is all about. If you plan to start or continue drinking Pu’er Tea, remember that quality is the most important aspect of this equation. Make sure the tea is sourced from a farm that does not use pesticides and is handled with care. We source from one family who grows the tea for their own consumption, so they handle it with the upmost care. Use clean tea, great water, and drink the tea consciously. Pay close attention to how the tea allows you to feel and what food combinations do for you along the way.

How long until I will see results?

The amount of time it takes to see health (or weight loss) results from drinking Pu’er will vary. Some may see results in as little as a few days, while some may take weeks. No one can guarantee that each body will see results, but drinking the tea daily and as recommended will help to ensure the best potential. Weight loss and lowered cholesterol often comes in as little as 5 days.
